Gay Marriage:

What's wrong with gay marriage?  In our free country, what gives you or the government, the authority to deny two people the right to enter into a consensual and contractual relationship?  Is America a free country, with liberty and justice for all, if we prohibit behavior or speech that offends us?

Most churches don't respect the notion of same-sex marriage, and that's their prerogative.  However the government does not have the right to discriminate in the same way.

There is a separation of church and state for a reason.  Our first amendment says that religious freedom is an absolute right, and includes the right to practice any religion of one’s choice, or no religion at all, and to do this without government control.  So your church can forbid same-sex marriages, however the government should not.

The government should allow for civil unions between two people without regard for their sex, race, religion, national origin or anything else!  Furthermore, the government should fully extend all of the rights given to traditional married couples to those that engage in civil unions.

Who are we to decide what relationship is right or wrong for someone else?
